The Evolving Workday

There is increasing employee interest, and increasing employer experimentation, in the four-day workweek. Steve Fields (founder and partner at Fields Law in Minnesota) and Thomas Carpe (CEO and principal architect of Liquid Mercury Solutions in Maryland) made the change and now offer advice to those considering doing so.

A related concept—employees have come to prioritize flexible work hours and, more specifically, the opportunity to exercise some control over when they work. Asynchronous work is not a new concept and, ideally, such flexibility may allow for employees to work at the times of the day during which they are most productive.
