Show Me the Money

Salary range information (pay transparency) in Indeed job postings rose in recent years (due, in part, to the post-pandemic job economy and an increasing number of jurisdictions requiring such disclosures). But that trend has now slowed. On the one hand, experts suggest including such information may help companies catch the eye of quality matches and yield faster conversion rates. Others point to concerns of a sort of race to the bottom–”commodifying” jobs and workers based on comp alone.

Business Takeaway: While the pay transparency trend may have slowed, more and more states and localities seem to be requiring it. This is further complicated by concepts like remote work and other aspects of a job that employees might value. Has pay transparency in job listings served you? Or have you backed away?
