Of the individuals who applied for religious exemptions relative to mandatory COVID vaccine policies, some based their opposition on the fetal cell lines associated with mRNA-based vaccines. With the recent availability of Novavax, a protein-based (i.e., non-fetal cell lines) alternative, this exemption falls away. In other words, employers with mandatory vaccination policies can now require affected employees to get the COVID vaccine (or, theoretically, require employees to reapply for the exemption on some other basis). Froedtert Hospital made local news by announcing such a policy, promptly followed by various other health care providers. The firm’s own Attorney Mark Goldstein weighed in on the issue on WISN (to view, scroll down the page to the second video).
