The current state of the labor market is having an uneven impact across industries. As we continue to see labor shortage issues throughout Wisconsin (e.g., Appleton’s Octoberfest cancellation, continued challenges for the restaurant industry), related labor issues are developing throughout the nation. For instance, walkoffs and strikes are occurring with greater frequency (e.g., Family Dollar in Nebraska, John Deere at 14 separate facilities, and Kellogg at various plant locations) as labor unions are doing their best to leverage the moment—locally and nationally. Organizing is also on the rise, including Colectivo and Starbucks. What are you seeing in your industry?
