A reminder that DHS is ending its COVID-related verification flexibility on July 31, 2023. By August 30, 2023, employers must complete “in-person physical document inspections” for any employees whose documents were previously inspected remotely. Accordingly, begin your in-person inspections, particularly if you had many I-9 inspections that were not in-person during the flexibility period.
