Approximately 90,000 restaurants closed due to COVID. Of those that remain, many have continued to face all sorts of headwinds. According to a National Restaurant Association survey, “fewer than 1 in 4 [restaurant] operators with an EIDL [Economic Injury Disaster Relief Loan] that is about to come due will be able to pay the scheduled principal and interest payments.” The Association and others have begun to reach out to the Small Business Association regarding some sort of relief for these affected businesses.
