FLSA Update

In August, the U.S. Department of Labor announced a proposed rulemaking notice regarding exempt employees which included “increasing the standard salary level and the highly compensated employee total annual compensation threshold.” In addition, the DOL is considering reintroducing “an automatic updating mechanism” such that thresholds reflect current earnings data. The comment period on these proposed changes ends on November 7, 2023, with a final rule expected by spring. Stay tuned.
