On Tuesday, the new administration offered buyouts to most of the federal workforce. While cast in terms of an end to remote work, the alternative, the notice warns, is a re-commitment to the President’s agenda and being subject to future downsizing.
So how will federal employees react – e.g., lawsuits as to the legality of such an initiative, collective bargaining issues, a wave of acceptances (and what that means for federal programs)? The offer expires next Thursday.
